Palmerston North will go off with a bang on Guy Fawkes Night! Look to the skies over the river at 9pm for a Kairanga Lions Firework Spectacular, in conjunction with the Palmerston North City Council’s Summer Programme.
This year the display will not be an event as such, as there will be no specific location to attend. Instead, you can watch it from anywhere in the city and surrounds. The firing zone is in the same location as last year, on the Massey side of the river, aligned roughly with Hokowhitu. However the display will be able to be seen from miles away so we recommend you find a nice spot away from others, or if you can, watch it from home!
We’re still under Level 2 restrictions so please keep yourselves safe wherever you view the display. If you do go out to a park or public space and see a QR code please scan in. Keep your social distance from others, and wear a mask.
So plan your own event around the display - whether it is a gathering in your backyard (for less than 100 people) or you travel to find your own secret best vantage spot. It’s going to be spectacular!
If the weather is bad, it will be postponed to the Sunday night.
