Formed in 2016, Francis-Lee Duo consists of University of Auckland School of Music graduates, violinist Dr Charlotte Francis and pianist Gemma Lee. Both have gained individual successes in chamber music throughout New Zealand and overseas, and have performed together in various venues across the Upper North Island, including the Auckland Central Library, Whittaker's Musical Museum, All Saints Howick, Waikato Museum, and the Hokianga Music Society.

Charlotte has been playing the violin since the age of five. Following her love of classics and ancient history, Charlotte gained her Master of Arts from the University of Queensland and a PhD in classics from the University of Otago. Charlotte has performed in many ensembles nationally, including the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra, Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, Hawke’s Bay Orchestra, and Hamilton's Opus Orchestra. Charlotte plays on a violin made in 1740 by Giacomo Zanoli.

Born in South Korea and raised in New Zealand, Gemma holds a Master of Music with First Class Honours from the University of Auckland. She has performed in venues across the United Kingdom and Europe, including at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Goldener Saal of the Vienna Musikverein. A firm believer in the power of music education for all-round development, Gemma has been involved in education projects with New Zealand's leading performing arts organisations, including the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Chamber Music New Zealand, the Royal New Zealand Ballet, and Opera Factory.

Mozart - Violin Sonata in Bb major, K. 454
