The morning will start at 10 am with the Friends AGM. At 10.30 the Amabile Trio, Charlotte Naden (bassoon), Jacci Grace (flute) and Camila de Oliveira(piano)will play.
Jacci Grace is studying a BA majoring in criminology and a BMus majoring in Classical Flute performance at the University of Auckland. She has played with the Manukau Symphony Orchestra, Wairua Sinfonietta and Handel Consort and Quire. Among other non-musical interests, Jacci is passionate about indigenous rights and hopes to pursue post-graduate studies in indigenous Criminology.
Charlotte is a bassoonist and completed a Music and Science conjoint degree University of Auckland in 2018 and is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Music Honours degree in Classical Bassoon Performance. Charlotte has played with many orchestras, concert bands and ensembles, including the NZSO National Youth Orchestra, Manukau Symphony Orchestra, NZ Youth Symphonic Winds and the University of Auckland Symphony Orchestra. She teaches the bassoon at several schools around Auckland.
The Brazilian pianist Camila Oliveira began her musical studies at the age of 6 years old and in 2004 she graduated from the São Caetano do Sul Arts Foundation under the guidance of Professor Claudia Siste.
She won many prizes in piano competitions, such as 20th Art Livre Piano Competition, 8th Piano Competition Maestro Rodrigo Tavares, 24th "Paulo Giovanini" Piano Competition, 7th National Piano Competition Maestro Spartaco Rossi, 1st Piracicaba International Piano Concert Competition and most recently she won the Llewelyn Jones Prize in Music for Piano at the University of Auckland.
Camila has played with many orchestras, such as Symphonic Orchestra of the Municipal Theatre of São Paulo, São Paulo State Symphony Band, Bachiana SESI-SP Foundation Orchestra, São Pedro Theatro Orchestra and Santo André Symphony Orchestra.
Camila completed her bachelor's degree in Piano at the Faculty of Arts Alcântara Machado under the guidance of Professor Marisa Lacorte in 2008. In 2019 Camila received her postgraduate diploma in Music with specialisation in piano performance at the University of Auckland under Dr Rae de Lisle and she is now studying for a master’s degree in Piano Performance at the University of Auckland. She also played a solo piano programme for us at our MTA last November. She maintains an intense career as a collaborative pianist and concert organiser.
This will be followed at around 11 am by an interview with Sue Wedde the APO viola player whose "chair' we sponsor.
There will be a light finger-food lunch as usual.
