Want a night out that is a little different from the usual restaurant or bar? Come along and taste award-winning, boutique gins and take a look behind the scenes at fascinating curios from the collection.
We are partnering with the masterminds behind Dunedin Craft Distillers for an evening you will remember. Dunedin Craft Distillers are the only distillery in NZ to produce botanical spirits from surplus bread and bakery products that would otherwise go to landfill. Dunedin Dry Gin is a smooth and juniper-forward gin with just enough warmth and spice to take the chill off a brisk Dunedin evening. You will enjoy a sophisticated evening sampling gin in Otago Museum’s beautiful Atriums, with excellent music, and canapés.
There will also be a rare tour of our Collections Stores. With over 1.5 million objects and taoka, the Stores are simply astounding. This area is usually only seen by visiting researchers, dignitaries, and media, and tonight our Collections team will guide you through the vast rooms in the bowels of the Museum that are very rarely opened to the public From objects of breathtaking beauty, to tiny insects and bones of majestic whales.
This will be an evening to tell your friends about.
