ABOUT THE SERIES

The North Island Endurance Series was formed in 2013 to bring back endurance driving to the North Island.

Today we have seen the success of the series grow from 22 cars in a combined One & Three Hour race to now full grids with 147 cars competing over the series.

The Golden Holmes North Island Endurance Series has a wide range of vehicles competing from all walks of life whether it’s a factory- built Audi R8 FIA GT3 car or a Honda Civic competing, both the 1 Hour & 3 Hour are broken up into classes to recognise cars that have done a good job but they are unlikely to beat a factory FIA GT3 car.

In 2021 the North Island Endurance Racing Drivers Club announced the expansion to their existing 1 & 3-hour endurance race format to a 3 race format. The club has re-jigged their Saturday one-day racing to accommodate an additional two-hour race strictly for clubman type vehicles, called appropriately ‘Clubman’s 2 Hour Race’.”

The race will still have a highly competitive element to it, with points and a championship on offer. Similarly, there will be a compulsory timed pit stop for refuelling and driver changes in order to best manage safety during refuelling.

Competitor interest in the North Island Endurance Series is running at an all time high and we are expecting upward of 70 plus car across both the 1, 2, and 3 hour races with some exciting new entries already received.

Four rounds will run between May and June, with only the season finale in Pukekohe.

The championship will open at Pukekohe on Saturday 8th May and the date for the final round is scheduled for June 27.
