Welcome to the Harcourts Cooper & Co North Shore Run Series… formerly the Albany Lakes Summer Series. We are thrilled in 2021 to once again expand the phenomenally successful Albany series to encompass three great locations and three outstanding events. The North Shore Run Series will carry on the great summer fun and fitness concept of the Albany Lakes series, but now you get to run in three locations instead of just one… how good is that?
Three Awesome Locations
The North Shore Run Series comprises three great event at three awesome locations. We kick the series off in January at Run Devonport: Navy Fields. Event base is the superb navy playing fields facility on the shores of Ngataringa Bay. The flat and fast course includes a road closure to ensure max speed and max enjoyment for all. Race Two visits one of the coolest new developments in Auckland; Hobsonville Point (OK, technically not within the old “North Shore” council boundary, but close enough!). The 5k flat course is almost totally off road with inner harbour views throughout – we know you will love it. Finally, we return to the “grand dame” of summer running. The Grand Finale will take place on the traditional and well worn course from Albany Lakes Civic Park.
Medals, Medals, Medals, Medals (4!)
Aiming to finish all three events in the North Shore Summer Series? We’ve got a special treat for you as each event in the series will award a special commemorative finisher medal for all finishers. But we said four medals right? This is where the magic happens. Complete all three events and pick up a special Series Slam medal where all of your individual event medals for the season fit inside. Awesome!
New 15k Run Option
We haven’t just added extra locations … there’s now an extra distance option. For those up for a real challenge, there is now a 15km (three lap) option at each venue. Merit awards will now extend to a 15km (runners only) series. Are you ready to take on distance max?
