Nelson’ Civic Choir is proud to present its winter concert; Hatching, Matching and Despatching at 7pm on Saturday 14 August 2021 in NCMA’s auditorium, the School of Music.
The concert will commence with excerpts of Hayden’s Creations and conclude with excerpts from Mozart’s Requiem. In between we celebrate NZ composers, Dorothy Buchanan and Chris Artley’s Missa Brevis and well as a selection of other well-known works. Several of these items will be enhanced by Alan Gray’s skilful playing of the Cawthrawn organ. We will also share our concert with the Male Voice Choir as well as singers from Nayland College choir Naycol Chorale. One of Nelson’s talented musicians Lissa Cowie will treat us to a cello solo.
Last year with varying levels of lockdown we were barely able to rehearse let alone present a concert and with this year’s colder and wetter winter we are particularly delighted to bring you these works and trust you will enjoy and feel warmed by this winter concert from the Nelson Civic Choir.
