We take a 30 minute bus ride south to a working farm nestled under right the Tarauras.

There is an option here of a farm walk of 7km or a 15km one.

The 7km walk is on farm tracks is guided by Anna Robinson, whose family have owned the farm for generations. On this walk you should see stags, and angus cattle. There are several small creek crossings and is undulating. You will be rewarded with views overlooking the Horowhenua and on a clear day you may see Kapiti Island. This walk should take about 90 minutes with stops.

For the more adventurous and very fit there is the 15km tramp. This walk goes right up to the top and has magnificent views over the Horowhenua. This walk is steep, but on a farm tracks and should take about three and half hours with stops.

When you finish the walk you will be rewarded with a sit down gourmet picnic lunch in a converted wool barn.

For those who think they could be a “Robin Hood” and would like to add to their experience and finish the day, the farm offers folk to have a go at archery. This is $15.00 extra per person and can be decided on the day.

Please ensure that you wear appropriate walking footwear, ( no jandals) and bring warm clothing, a drink, and snacks for energy. Because you are so near to the hills the weather can change very quickly.
