It's time again for Wellington's wonderful Pride Youth Ball!

Hosted by young people with support from the wider rainbow community, the Youth Ball is an annual event for 13 - 18 year olds which happens as part of Wellington Pride Festival. For youth who don't conform to sexuality or gender norms the usual school balls are often unwelcoming - pressured to act a certain way, dress codes enforced, and environments which feel unsafe. This is a ball run for youth, by youth which offers a safe and diverse alternative to high school balls where all attendees are encouraged to come how they are comfortable and with the people they want to.

Our theme this year is INTERGALACTIC, a theme which encourages you to get creative, celebrate your identity and shine bright like a star in a safe and supportive atmosphere. You can get as out there and experimental as you like with your outfit - we just want you to feel comfortable in yourself!

We'll be turning the Hunter Lounge at Victoria University into a futuristic venue for this event, even including a few performances by some of Wellingtons local Drag superstars!

You can even get ready with your fellow space explorer's at InsideOUT's pre-ball event Saturday the 20th of March 3:30-5:30pm Level 3 148 Wakefield St, and then get a free bus to the venue.

We offer a "pay it forward" option on these tickets so if you would like to sponsor tickets for the youth please contact us on the email below.
