International Party

The Wakatipu Presbyterian Church, present in the basin for more than 153 years proudly brings in a brand new event that is already creating a lot of engagement and joy to all volunteers involved.

The International Party has the purpose of celebrating the diversity we have in our community, putting together traditional food, clothing and performances from a variety of immigrant communities alongside those who carry the European and Kiwi heritage.

At the same time, we will raise funds for the Wakatipu Presbyterian Church, a Christian community committed to the wellbeing of all nationalities represented in its membership.

Queenstown is getting back on its feet after the downturn last year when many people lost their jobs and this would be a chance to form new relationships and celebrate the hope of better days. So far we have Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Philippines, Korea, NZ, Australia and the UK being represented. All others nationalities are invited to participate with us.

The public will be delighted with a massive variety of food to be sold in small portions. The idea is that everyone will have the opportunity to try new things from different cuisines.

We will also have an amazing Silent Auction, Games for children, and several artistic performances from different nations.
