A one-day workshop which takes participants through the tikanga and practice of identifying, collecting, gathering and using Native plants for medicinal use.
This event begins with a morning hikoi or journey through the beautiful Manaia Reserve to identify plants used in Rongoā Māori practice.
Kai Rongoā and Manaaki Mama, Chelita Zainey, will engage participants in learning and growing their knowledge around the pono or right way to cultivate, collect, gather and protect rakau used in Rongoā Māori.
After lunch we will look at the many ways in which we can utilise Rongoā for our own and whanau wellbeing.
