SPELD NZ’S two-day introductory course is for you!
This Level 3 NZQA-approved course is an Introduction. It will cover great insights into what it’s like to have a Specific Learning Disability (SLD) and why SLD occurs. It also offers constructive, practical strategies to help these learners in the classroom setting and at home.
Attendees come from a variety of backgrounds, including parents/whanau and educators (such as teacher aides, tutors, Learning Support Co-ordinators, teachers, SENCO, school management). It is suitable for those with limited knowledge of SLD, such as dyslexia, and for people interested in refreshing their knowledge or learning more.
This is a two-day course and it runs from 9 am to 4 pm. You need to attend both days.
No prior qualifications are required to enroll. A certificate is issued on completion of the course.
Cost includes course notes and morning tea. Training subsidies may be available for registered teachers to attend - if that is you, please contact support@speld.org.nz
