Jane McCulla, Artist Demonstration

During this artist demonstration ceramic artist, Jane McCulla will be hand-building a textured clay vessel.

She will demonstrate how to texture the clay, how to use a template to create the form and the technique required to construct the clay vessel from the textured slabs of clay.

Artist bio
Gaining a 1st Class BA Hons in Fine & Applied Art at the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland in 2006, Jane McCulla immigrated to NZ in 2009. She teaches throughout NZ and undertakes private and public commissions. For over 7 years she was a Regional Council Member and VP of Ceramics Association of NZ. In 2017 Jane completed a residency at The Pottery Workshop in Jingdezhen, working predominantly with porcelain in China. Her ceramics have been in various publications and exhibited in both solo and national shows in London, UK, Ireland and NZ and are held in public collections. Her ceramics have received awards including a Portage Merit Award in 2013.
