If you’re hungry for a little adventure, join the crew from Auckland Sea Kayaks and paddle across the Waitematā Harbour to Devonport, Auckland’s picturesque Victorian village.

And don’t be put off if you’ve never paddled before, because no kayaking experience is required, and full instructions are provided by your qualified, experienced guides. Be prepared to paddle up to 6 km return (3 km each leg), which will take around 50 minutes each way with Auckland Sea Kayaks providing all the gear including warm tops, waterproof jackets, and paddling gloves to keep you snug and dry.

After the magical experience of making your way across the water, you’ll make landfall in Devonport and be directed to Corelli’s Café where you’ll be treated to a hearty home-style dinner.

At Corelli’s the chefs pride themselves on their wholesome and tasty fare, with all dietary requirements catered for - perfect for refuelling your engine for the return journey across the water.

After dinner, you’ll meander back to the water’s edge whereupon your guides will lead you on a gentle paddle back towards the twinkling lights of the city that will provide the most picturesque navigation aids you could ever imagine. And yes, you’ll be lightly lit too.

Your guides are all experienced kayakers with a commitment to your safety and a passion for conservation and their knowledge of these waters, the history, flora and fauna will help bring the stories of the region to life.

What better way to stimulate the appetite, because this will be a meal you’ve truly earned - the ultimate kai-yak adventure.
