A community forum with leading activist, storyteller and photographer Qiane Matata-Sipu (Te Waiohua ki Te Ahiwaru me Te Akitai, Waikato, Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Pikiao and Cook Islands).
We’re very excited to meet Qiane, who is a leader in the extremely effective Ihumātao protection campaign as well as founder/creator of NUKU women, a non-profit social enterprise celebrating 100 Indigenous female change-makers and leaders for their success on their own terms.
In all Qiane’s diverse mahi, she describes her guiding kaupapa as “telling the stories of marginalised people and communities to change the narrative for our future generations”.
She’ll korero with Stacey Morrison (Ngāi Tahu, Te Arawa), award-winning broadcaster, author, Te Reo advocate (and a NUKU woman!).
We look forward to a warm evening of being inspired by Qiane’s impressive knowledge, talents and achievements in making change for the future.
Bookings essential to info@womenz.org.nz.
Donations between zero and $20.
All genders welcome, NZSL interpreters, and tea & coffee provided.
