Learning About Loss and Grief: This five-week course will meet every Monday in May.

One thing is certain in life.
We all suffer losses of one kind or another.

After a loss (and there are many kinds) a natural process begins – the grieving process.
This process, the grieving process, is not well understood.

This workshop series will explore:

- The impacts losses in our lives can have on us
- The grief process in response to loss
- The recovery that the grief process can make possible

If you are currently managing a loss in your life, or you would like to learn more about loss, grief and the potential for recovery, you will be very welcome as part of the group.

Paul Ranby will be facilitating this group exploration. Paul has been a parish minister and a Hospice Chaplain. He has experience in leading many groups through to fresh understandings of the realities of loss and grief.

Many who have been hit hard by a loss have found their way through to the beginnings of a new outlook on life.

This workshop is being provided with support from Feilding Oroua Presbyterian Parish and Presbyterian Support Central.

Some more information:

The group that meets will respect anyone’s right to remain silent.

The losses which often are significant in people’s lives include:
- The loss experienced as a victim of sexual assault, burglary or violence
- The loss experienced as a result of a loved person’s death
- Young adult children leaving the “nest”
- Experiencing a miscarriage
- The ending of an important relationship
- The loss experienced as a result of retirement, ill health and/or physical impairments

Any loss which the sufferer regards as significant will always lead to grieving of some intensity.

You will be very welcome, if you choose to join this group.
