Christchurch-born, Mark Secker actually began his musical working life in Nelson in the 1980’s where he was very involved with Nelson School of Music for about eight years before moving back to his hometown in 1990. His career has encompassed a wide range of activities including teaching from beginner to tertiary level, performing as a solo and ensemble pianist, adjudicating and examining. As a free-lancer he has taken every opportunity to indulge in his other passions including outdoor pursuits and travel, visiting all sorts of far-flung parts of the world. Now retired, he has come full circle and relishes living once more in this blessed part of New Zealand.

Lissa Cowie was born in Scotland and emigrated to Auckland as a teenager, where she studied cello with Coral Bognuda privately and then at the University of Auckland. After gaining a BMus Hons there and PGDipRAM studying cello with David Smith in London, she was a busy free-lance musician in Auckland, London and Glasgow. She has played in many orchestras including the Auckland Philharmonic, many chamber groups including the Elgin Piano Trio and lots of teaching at a range of schools from inner city comprehensive to private, specialist music schools and RSAMD Youth programme. Lissa now enjoys being part of the vibrant music scene in Nelson and the top of the south.

Fleur Jackson is a passionate performer and music educator. Originally from Nelson and an active musical family, she began lessons with Margarita Jackson at age 10 and in 2010 completed a BA/MUSB at Canterbury University under the tutorage of Jan Tawroszewicz. In Nelson she has been part of an eclectic mix of ensembles, ranging from an American folk duo to a Klezmer band and a Classical string quartet. In 2016 she completed her BMUS (First Class Hons) at Te Koki New Zealand School of Music and in 2018 finished her MMUS in Classical Performance under Helene Pohl from the NZSQ. She is currently a member of several chamber music ensembles, the NCMA Chamber Orchestra. a casual for Orchestra Wellington and a teacher at NCMA.
