Time to get fabric shopping because Daisy Braid AKA DIY Daisy is coming to Lopdell Precinct to guide you through making your very own Rectangle Ruffle Skirt. This skirt seriously goes with everything, it's a wardrobe staple! It can be jazzed up with heels and a cute top for a fancy dinner or dressed down with birks and a tee for an afternoon of barefoot bowls.
The Ruffle Skirt is made up of rectangles which means it produces very little waste and in just 4 hours you can make one too! At the end of the workshop, you'll walk out the door with a fabulous flowy skirt handmade by YOU. Daisy will even provide a super cute clothing label from Kylie and The Machine, the perfect finishing touch. Don't worry if you haven't sewn since high school home EC, this is a great workshop for beginners!
We will cover sewing a straight stitch, creating gathers and inserting an elastic waistband. With your new sewing confidence, you will be able to go home and whip up all the ruffley skirts of your dreams – hello handmade wardrobe! Once you have made your first one, you can use the same techniques to make a mini skirt or add an extra ruffle tier for a real life salsa girl emoji moment.

- Fabric: Please prewash and iron your fabric. Midweight woven non-stretchy fabric like cotton lawn, poplin or linen.

- 120cm wide fabric:
sizes 8-12 bring 1.5m - 2m // sizes 14-20 bring 3m
- 136cm wide fabric:
sizes 8-16 bring 1.5 - 2m // sizes 18-20 bring 3m
Daisy is travelling here from Australia. If Covid travel bubble restrictions change and she is unable to make it, the workshop will be cancelled and refunds will be provided.
