What better way to begin the New Year than by cultivating the positive habit of a daily meditation practice!

How it works
Join us for our 5 day meditation challenge and immerse yourself in meditations to develop a peaceful mind and a good heart. Each day for five days, we will be offering guided meditations at the Centre – in the morning and evening. Challenge yourself to join in a mediation for five days in a row. Taught by qualified Kadampa Buddhist teachers, each session will consist of a brief teaching and a long meditation.

Just join in – booking is not required. Suitable for beginners or advanced. Everyone is welcome!

Ideal for those who:
- Wish to enjoy a life of greater peace and happiness
- Wish to start a daily meditation practice but aren’t sure where to begin
- Had an initial enthusiasm for meditation that’s dropped off and needs reinvigorating
- Are already practising regularly and would like to deepen their understanding

Kalpa Bhadra Buddhist Centre, 24 Rugby St, Merivale, Christchurch

There is plenty of parking on the street but please do not park on the neighbour's driveways.

What to expect at a class
These classes are based on Buddha’s teachings on the mind, but you do not need to be a Buddhist to attend or to benefit from them.

There is no physical exercise involved and you can choose to sit either in a chair or on a cushion.
