Nau mai, haere mai ki te whakaaturanga oranga hinengaro - Welcome to the Mental Health exhibition.
This year, following the 'Call & Response' exhibition from last year which focused specifically on Men's Mental Health, we have widened our scope to encapsulate and provide a platform for the entire community in Otepoti, Dunedin.
This is a multi-faceted Art exhibition running all through NZ Mental Health Awareness Week. 'Response Received' aims to create a safe space for all people to engage in conversations around Mental Health, both in wellness and in struggles and stigmas. We hope that this show will encourage the community to open up and share stories with one another, and ultimately help to develop more kindness, empathy, resilience and unity within our community.
We have over 75+ incredible Artworks exhibited, a vast range of Mental Health related resources from various organisations in the community and Workshops by:
Life Matters:
SafeTALK Suicide Prevention Workshop - Wednesday 29th Sep, 12pm-3pm. Normally $20 but koha entry is great. A minimum of 10 need to register for this to run. Email contact@lifematters.org.nz to register.
WEKA:
Substance use in Ōtepoti, a harm minimisation approach. Koha entry. 10am-12pm, Thursday 30th Sep. No registration required.
Creating a relapse/wellbeing plan. Koha entry. 1pm-3pm, Thursday 30th Sep. No registration required.
We also have a very special Performance Evening event, which all are welcome to attend with Kai, Drinks, Live Performances of Dance, Spoken Word and Music, and Guest Speakers.
The Performance Evening event is 6pm-Late, Friday 1st October. You won't want to miss it!!!
The exhibition will be open from 3pm-7pm on the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Performance Event Friday Evening 6pm-Late. Saturday All Day from 10am-4pm.
KOHA ENTRY to the exhibition. These collections and the proceeds of any Artwork sold is going to both WEKA and to Otago Mental Health Support Trust to help them continue to do their amazing mahi.
