Artspace Gallery is proud to welcome Christchurch painter and gallery owner for her first exhibition at our gallery.

Min grew up in South Korea and as a young girl she loved nothing more than to draw and paint. Her father, Kevin Kim, a professional artist, encouraged her, teaching her to paint and different ways of looking at things. Min went on study at the Jung Ang Fine Art University in South Korea then worked as a successful interior designer and illustrator in South Korea.

In 1999, MIN immigrated to New Zealand and settled in Christchurch where she became a full-time artist and set up a successful art gallery. During this time Min went to Florence, Italy, for a two-year stint to study the classic paintings by 19th-century masters. Her time in Italy touched Min deeply and influenced her art through using vibrant colours and unique atmosphere.

Mins deep passion for art is very evident through her bright and vibrant watercolours and oil paintings. She is also a gifted and exceptional teacher, willing to share her passion and skills freely with others.
