The Forensic Biology Summer School and Dunedin Branch of the Forensic Science Society is pleased to announce a public seminar by Dr Julia Kasper, the Lead Curator Invertebrates at Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.

Dr Kasper is an entomologist specialising in flies. In this talk, she will discuss her fascinating role in criminal forensics using maggots and flies to help solve crimes.

The first in a series of three forensic highlights summer seminars is proudly hosted by the Forensic Biology Te Kura Rautami run by the Sir John Walsh Research Institute, University of Otago, in conjunction with the Australian New Zealand Forensic Science Society.

Summer seminar series also includes Wednesday 10th February (3D crime scene reconstruction) and Wednesday 17th February (The Coroner in New Zealand).
