Janice is a 73-year-old artist, pianist, reader, gardener, Salvationist, puzzler, traveller, wife, mother, grandmother and a former primary school teacher.
Since retiring from teaching, Janice has had a lot more time to indulge in her interests. Janice has had three exhibitions at CAN, and these have spurred her on to keep painting in her chosen medium of acrylics. Janice prefer pastels for anything with fur and does a lot of
commissioned animal portraitist in this medium.
In this exhibition, Janice has included a few familiar Art Deco icons, plus derelict Tikokino buildings (Central Hawkes Bay), and some flower and Pukekos. She hopes that the visitors to Napier will recognize some of the subjects of these paintings from the sights they have seen here.
