‘AWAY’: new paintings by Martine Potato Bijker.

A sense of the nocturnal hangs over the recent work of Martine Bijker. Though a dedicated homebody, the gig economy takes Martine away for considerable periods of time and these densely glazed landscapes hum with a sense of nostalgia for something lost which may have never been. A weighing up of light and shadow in the vespertine lucidity that only comes from being away. Beautiful and brimming with a calm intensity.

Join me for the opening event Friday 5 November 7-9pm. The show will then be open every Saturday in November, 10am-2pm.
