Auckland's not The Church... but damn close' is a unique 'one-man band' solo artist Rock act with a full band sound, Produced and Performed 'Live' by former Mockers Guitarist - Paul Lightfoot, 'not The Church... but damn close' is a tribute show showcasing songs from Australian psychedelic rock icons 'The Church'.
Paul says "In all the years I've been playing music I'd never had the slightest interest in being in a covers band, having always done original material. But, if ever was going to perform someone else's music then it was only ever going to be music from 'The Church', because I love em".
Paul records and produces all the backing tracks for each song in his recording studio, and compliments them with 'Live' Guitar and vocals, which gives him a unique sonic full band sound.
Auckland's 95bFM 'Gig Guide' said; "If you've never got the chance to see 'The Church' perform 'Live', then this is definitely the next best thing. He does it so well".
