We ALMOST got there in February, but COVID-19 played havoc with our plans, and we had to postpone it. We're back - with a new date: 24 July 2021!
The New Zealand Japan Society of Auckland Inc. is delighted to present Taste of Japan 'Kizuna' 2021 featuring Japanese culture, food, market day stalls and performances by our own Haere Mai Taiko drummers and other talented performers.
Entry is FREE, and there will be opportunities to experience Japanese culture through our tea ceremony demonstrations, live performances, and food stalls.
We will also be hosting 'virtual tours' to four of Japan's most popular regions: Kansai, Kanto, Tohoku/Hokkaido and Kyushu/Okinawa. You can check out some of the visual highlights (with video supplied by JNTO) and songs from each region. It's almost like taking a flight to Japan. And just like flights, seats for these tours are limited, so we recommend booking your seats now!
The regional virtual tours will run as follows, and you can book for each individual tour:
Kanto Region Virtual Tour: 10:30am - 11:30am
Kansai Region Virtual Tour: 12 noon - 1pm
Tohoku/Hokkaido Virtual Tour: 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Kyushu/Okinawa Virtual Tour: 3pm - 4pm
Please note:
1) Registered tour guests must check-in at the Virtual Tour desk 30 minutes before the actual tour start time and be seated 5 minutes before the start time.
2) When the tour starts, guests are not allowed to enter the tour theatre.
