Ridge Top Farm Walk is a unique opportunity to walk over a true North Island Kiwi farm, where you’ll experience incredible panoramic views as far as Kapiti Island and along the West Coast, Mt Egmont and Mt Ruapehu. This walk on a 1,500-acre sheep and beef farm will take you through gradual terrain with the odd short climb to the top, where you’ll be rewarded with stunning central North Island scenery.
You’ll get to enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch, surrounded by farmland and views.
During your 10.5km mapped farm walk you may also experience farming in action – stock mustering, drenching, dipping, sheep shearing, fencing or just the 4WD motorbike and the dogs stopping to have a chat as they pass you.
Relish the beauty of nature – the birds singing, streams trickling, the fresh rural air and the many farm animals around you offer a perfect day walk to escape and refresh.
You will travel by bus from Palmerston North. This walk is limited to 28 people, so get in quick.
The bus will stop at the Feilding & District Information Centre at the Feilding Railway Station to pick up Feilding walkers at 9.20am. Please send an email to info@mwf.org.nz with your name, phone number and walk, if you wish to be picked up there, after you have made your booking.
