One of New Zealand’s most highly acclaimed young pianists, will be joined by Portuguese violinist, Matilde Loureiro to present a recital of both solo piano and violin-duo repertoire. Currently based in Europe, Jun has had international success as both a soloist and chamber musician, having been awarded 2nd prize at the Maj Lind International Piano Competition (Finland) and, as a member of the Calvino Piano Trio, 1st prize at the "Orpheus" Swiss Chamber Music Competition. Matilde Loureiro is a recipient of various international awards and regularly performs in various halls in Portugal, the Netherlands, Italy, France and Czech Republic. The recital will feature a selection of Chopin Waltzes and Mazurkas, as well as piano, works by Szymanowski and Debussy for the first half and, in the second half, the Mozart Violin Sonata in G Major and Ravel Violin Sonata no. 2.
