We're delighted to announce our first-ever summertime garden event, Picnic in the Garden, on Sunday 21 February.

Savour the long, lazy days of summer with this very unique opportunity to enjoy Otahuna's grounds and celebrated cuisine. Start your afternoon with a stroll through the property's spectacular 125-year gardens. Take in wide vistas over the lawn and lake, wander the maze-like paths of the Dutch Garden, find a shaded seat for two in the Woodlands, and learn more from our gardening team about the different varieties of organic fruits and vegetables growing in our Potager Garden.

Afterward, plan on indulging in an estate-grown, gourmet picnic lunch prepared by the Lodge's renowned chefs along with a glass of wine or a garden-inspired cocktail. Enjoy your delicious lunch on the Great Lawn and linger as you listen to the sounds of live jazz or try your hand at a friendly game of croquet.

Included in the tariff of $75 per person are the following:
- An Otahuna picnic lunch made with the freshest ingredients sourced from the estate and prepared by Otahuna’s chefs. (Please indicate any dietary requirements--Vegetarian/Vegan/Dairy-Free/Gluten-Free/Etc. - at time of booking.)
-Two beverages of your choice from a selection of wine, beer, soft-drinks and garden-inspired cocktails. Additional beverages will be available for cash purchase.
- Live Jazz on the Great Lawn between 12:30pm and 2:30pm.
- A self-guided tour of our 30 acres of heritage grounds and productive gardens.
- The chance to challenge your friends and family to a round of pétanque, croquet or kubb on the Games Lawn.
- A visit to the Kitchen to browse the Lodge Boutique or purchase freshly made coffees, baked goods and sorbets.
