Poesía sin fronteras / Poetry Without Borders and From the 4410 to the 4412

Poesía sin fronteras / Poetry Without Borders
Produced by Charles Olsen
Curated by Dave Bonta

Film and poetry featuring international filmmakers and writers.

Poetry Without Borders is a project that suits our current world situation. Borders are closed. Travel is limited. But international artistic connection remains vital, perhaps more so as we face down the ongoing effects of this time.

This project will appeal to our South American communities and lovers of poetry and writing. Experiencing these works with local live readings adds additional interpersonal connection.

From the 4410 to the 4412 (double bill with Poesía sin fronteras / Poetry Without Borders)
By Marolyn Krasner, Charlie Pearson and Helen Lehndorf

In this multi-genre performance, local writers will weave their poetic voices in a beautiful live show.

In a time when the very notion of borders is being redefined by a global virus, and a society increasingly reliant on the internet, Helen Lehndorf, Marolyn Krasner and Charlie Pearson explore and push against the comforts and constraints of their central Papaioea lives with a backdrop of international pandemonium: climate change, political rage and cultural confusion.

They grapple with a world that is being both saved and destroyed by the interconnectedness of being online. In this multi-genre performance, the writers will weave their poetic voices in a show that will draw you close, challenge assumptions about what it is to be a creative practitioner in a small city with a reputation for being dull, and most importantly, make you smile.
