"You don't know what's real and what isn't anymore..."
Presented by FOPS Performing Arts, you are invited to come along and laugh, gasp and witness the surreal, the horror and the humor of the absurdist black comedy that is Eugène Ionesco's Rhinoceros. Focused on a small town not unlike our own Palmerston North, sightings of horned beasts appearing out of nowhere stampeding through the town whisks the community into a delightfully dark tale of mob mentality, how we react to a crisis, and individuality vs conformity.
From fascism to pandemics, from humor to horror, from logic and philosophy to pure chaos, no tale better presents the current political and social climate than the timeless, delightfully macabre Rhinoceros.
Showing at the Sir Geoffrey Peren Building at Massey University (Building 3, Tiritea Road) from the 28th to the 31st July.
Door sales available, or book at fopsperformingarts@gmail.com.
Don't miss your opportunity to witness one of the most insane and chaotic but somehow also eerily relevant classics of our time.
