This free walk, part of the Auckland Heritage Festival, will cover some of the architectural features of the now diverse Sandringham shopping area and then explore two of the side roads, talking about the main housing styles and influences of the suburb.
Sandringham still holds traces of its origins in the few older houses that are hidden in its side streets. Learn stories of Sandringham including the notorious murder in the area in the 1850s. This is a chance to gain a greater understanding of a suburb that is home to many cultures and identities.
