Be inspired by this creative and practical introduction to screen-printing on fabric.
Aimed at beginners, you’ll learn step by step how to mix and apply inks, register, and print using pre-exposed screens. Explore the creative possibilities of screen-printing to make bespoke items of clothing, bags and more!
Everyone should bring five items of their choosing to print. As long as they are flat, we can help you print on it! Shirts, tote bags, tea towels, bandanas, a pre-loved jean jacket will all work great.
Be in quick - only 10 spaces available! No prior experience needed. Age: 16 +
What to bring:
• Fabric or clothing you’d like to print on.
• An apron or an old shirt as things get messy!
About the tutors:
Auckland based artists Monica Wang, Julie Ilagan and Josh Leifi all work with screen-printing in their art practices, with a focus of printing on different materials - fabric, clothing and metal. Ilagan, Wang and Leifi graduated from Elam with Honours in 2020.
