Show Me Shorts - German Short Film Night - Auckland

Join us for an evening of experimental German short films from Oberhausen International Short Film Festival.

About this Event: Show Me Shorts and Goethe-Institut New Zealand present an evening of experimental German short films co-curated with Oberhausen International Short Film Festival - one of the oldest and most respected short film festivals in the world. Join us to celebrate the cinema of Germany.

There are six short films by top German filmmakers:

Der Natürliche Tod der Maus (The Natural Death of a Mouse) directed by Katharina Huber
The Ghosts We Left at Home directed by Faris Alrjoob
Nackenwirbel (Minae Minae) directed by Die Glitzies
Passage directed by Ann Oren
SUGAR directed by Bjørn Melhus
If There Is Love, You Will Take It directed by Daniel Hopp

This is an informal and fun event, and all are welcome. The screening takes place in the upstairs function room at The Kingslander. All films screen in the German language with English subtitles. Run time is approx 91-minutes. No allocated seating, so first in best dressed. The bar will be open with food and drink available for purchase.

FAQs:

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No, just your name and email confirmation is fine.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event? The Kingslander is a very short walk from Kingsland train station. There is street parking available but make sure to allow time to find a park. Some of the parking on New North Road is pay and display.

Will there be door sales? Previous events have sold out online before the night so it is recommended to pre-book. If online sales do not sell out there may be limited door sales. Door sales are cash only.
