What is a smart website?
Ultimately it’s one that successfully achieves for your business what you need it to, at the same time as it delivers what your website visitors want. It sounds simple enough, but a successful, smart website proves elusive for many businesses.
In this session, marketing and website strategist Kathryn McGarvey will talk you through the essential elements for creating and maintaining a website that is more than just an online brochure. This will give direction to fledgling businesses who are just getting started, as well as guidance for more established businesses who have a suspicion that their website could be working more effectively for them.
Kathryn will cover off:
> design dos, don’ts and best practices
> your website’s content and how to best structure it
> how to guide your site visitors to do what you want them to do on your site (whether that’s book a service, make a phone call, or buy a widget)
> the bare basics of what you need to know about the technical side of websites (you don’t need to be technical-minded)
> guidelines for improving your SEO (search engine optimisation – basically helping your Google results)
> and underpinning it all, how to ensure you have a solid strategy in place to build upon
Presenter: Kathryn McGarvey

She now works as a marketing coach and advisor, helping small business owners make their business more visible, more connected and ultimately more appealing to their target audience.
