COVID 19 Level 2 Update (3pm Sun 27 June)
If the Wellington Region is still at COVID Level 2 on 6pm Sat 3 July, this event will not be able proceed with a live Audience.
In this instance, all tickets will be refunded via Eventfinda, the Bands will perform for judges only with less than 100 people present, and we will livestream the event via our website and/or Facebook page.
Although Tickets are still on sale, we recommend waiting until after the 1pm Ministry of Health update on Tuesday 29th June before purchasing further tickets.

Smokefreerockquest is New Zealand’s only nationwide, live, original music, youth event. Now in its 33rd year, the series of over 40 events reaches audience numbers in excess of 10,000 every year.

Founded in 1989 by music teachers Glenn Common and Pete Rainey, Smokefreerockquest has now become a New Zealand institution.

Smokefreerockquest aims to motivate young musicians to prove their ability and realise the heights they can reach in their music careers, and to encourage their peers to support original New Zealand music.
