The 17 October Songwriters’ Showcase features the work of three more local songwriters.
Don Mackay - "Too country for the folk crowd, too folky for the rock crowd, too rocky for the country crowd". Newtown songwriter Don Mackay doesn't quite tick the genre boxes anywhere. He will be performing with Hollie and members of the band Scattered Wreckage.
Laldy - "To undertake an action with gusto or great enthusiasm." Fiddle player Rachel Evans and multi-instrumentalist Donald James combine forces for one mission: to play folk and gie i' laldy. Laldy are inspired by Celtic and Scandinavian music traditions to play a selection of sweet original songs, modal grooves and trad bangers.
Aiden Verity- Aidan Verity’s music is a mix of quirky love stories and theatrical spiritual ballads. She’s most at home prancing over her synth-pop productions, but also plays viola, violin, ukulele, piano, and saxophone.
Door from 6:00pm.
Aiden Verity - from 7:00pm;
Laldy - from 8:00pm; and
Don Mackay - from 9:00pm
Tickets $10 at the door or from Eventfinda.
There is a limit of 100 tickets for this show under Covid level 1, which will reduce to 50 if Wellington is still at Covid level 2.
