Old Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan

The long form (Taolu) of Yang Cheng Fu is a martial art, but is mainly learnt and practiced for physical exercise, emotional well being, general good health and improving the quality of the body's vital energy. Performed slowly, peacefully and correctly, it quietens the mind and emotions, thus helping to reduce stress.

No special clothing is required for Tai Chi. Loose fitting clothing eg. T-shirts / sweatshirts and track trousers are good to allow the body to move freely. Keep warm with layered clothing. Bare feet, socks, or flat-soled shoes for the feet are best. No sneakers or running shoes as they hinder good posture.

Bring a bottle of water to drink.

Tai Chi is different, it is an individual practice. Do not compare yourself to others. Enjoy your practice; have fun, put a smile on your face and in your body.

Embrace tiger, return to the mountain.
