Artists from all corners of New Zealand will be represented at the free exhibition in Mapua. All of the artwork, oil, water colour, acrylic, pastel and multi-media, is for sale. The event, which started life in Nelson has now been running in Mapua for a few years and has steadily grown in stature to become a recognised event on the national art calendar.
Judges will select an overall winner, four merit awards, the best watercolour painting and the best portrait. One further award is always very popular, the People's Choice Award.
Mapua Community Hall is a superb venue for the art exhibition and Mapua itself a lovely destination for an outing.
We welcome all visitors to come and enjoy the paintings, vote for a favourite, join in the raffle and maybe even purchase a gem to take home.
Entries for the awards are welcome and all information is available on the website or Facebook page. The closing date for applications is midnight on Friday 6th August.
