The Teddy Bear's Hospital is back for the ninth year! This is a free venture organised by students of Otago University Medical School. The philosophy behind this event it create a positive experience with health professionals for children.

For kids, visiting the doctor usually occurs when they are sick or requiring childhood immunisations, and this has the power to create very unpleasant memories for the child, and also often for their caregiver. We want to help you by relieving some of that anxiety and fear- by showing how much fun hospitals can be.

This year we are pleased to announce that we will also be providing consultations with 'Teddy Dentists'!!! The Doctors and Dentists will be providing free consultations - showing the kids how to take Teddy's temperature, listen to his 'heartbeat' and give them that terrifying injection.

The team is super excited for Community Day this year. On the 15th of May the Hunter Centre (cnr Great King and Fredrick) will transform into the Teddy Bear Hospital. St John will be there to show you through the ambulance, and there will be sausage sizzles, a bake sale, face paining, our anatomy models and much much more!

New this year! We will be having another Community Day running parallel in South Dunedin, at the Carisbrook School Hall.. No Bookings required, more details to come!

Check out our website for information and if you have any questions - flick us an email at tbhdunedin@gmail.com.
