SOLE Music Academy

Your music is your business. If you want to be a successful artist, you need to know how to run your own business & who to have on your team.

With the help of the NZ Music Commission, SOLE has put together a brand new music business speaker and mentoring series to support emerging Canterbury artists and upcoming music professionals.

THE BUSINESS is the 4th of 6 music seminars, where special guest speakers will cover everything you need to know about how to make and release your music successfully.

In this unmissable event, you will hear from one of New Zealand’s top music managers Lorraine Barry (Dave Dobbyn, Aaradhna & Tom Scott) discuss the top attributes a manager should have, and what they look for in an artist.

Doug Allcock, a mentor and business advisor to a number of bands and independent musicians, will discuss the importance of implementing the right business strategy and governance structures to ensure your music performs financially.

And Dan Chisholm, specialises in commercial and entertainment law, with specific expertise in the music industry acting for prominent musicians and labels in New Zealand and Australia, will discuss music contracts and what to look out for when signing your next record deal!

There will be a Q&A with the speakers and the opportunity to network with other attendees & speakers afterwards.

Come and listen to music industry professionals talk about everything you need to know about how to make and release your music successfully.
