Our next meeting will delve into matching Cheese with Gin. There is no denying that gin has made a comeback in recent times. This humble spirit is now top of the cocktail list in many bars and Riot and Rose is one brand leading the charge. Lucky for us, Riot and Rose are based here in Marlborough, and Jane and Ant Walkenhorst are able to join us.
We will be tasting Jane's two signature gins; Riot - bold, traditional and mellow, and Rose - a contrasting elegant, delicate and floral gin, while Jane and Ant talk to us about their journey into the craft gin industry and how they distill their gin.
"The Cheese Board" resident cheese expert, Virginnia Thomas, will guide us through the cheese matches. By the end of the night you will know exactly what cheese to put on your crackers next time you sit down to enjoy a G and T.
The Wine Station is open right up to 7pm so if you would like to come in early and enjoy a small wine tasting before we start you are more than welcome. Or better yet, let us take care of the dinner dishes and come in for a delicious Mediterranean tart and leafy green salad for $12. Please let our staff know directly if you would like a meal when you book your ticket.
Tickets are $35 per person. Pre-bookings essential.
The Wine Station is centrally located at the 1906 heritage building, Blenheim Railway Station. The Wine Station is a showpiece for Marlborough wine and artisan food products.
