Are you an advanced/professional dancer keen to refine your technical artistry and get a sweat up? The Dance Class combines Hawkins and Limone contemporary techniques and classical ballet and is aimed at advanced/professional level dancers.

Classes include conditioning floor, tuning classical barre and locomotive centre exercises.

The Dance Class is guaranteed to sort out all the niggles and get a sweat up while maintaining technical artistry.

Please bring a towel, water and mat.

Teaching artist - Merenia Gray : DipDP (NZSD) ARAD AISTD Ngāi Tahu Rāngitāne Tainui

Merenia is an arts sector leader with 30 years’ experience, both nationally and internationally, in the performing arts. She graduated from the New Zealand School of Dance in 1990. Merenia has recently been appointed a Trustee for The New Zealand Dance Advancement Trust for The New Zealand Dance Company and has completed a 4-year tenure as a board member of Dance Aotearoa New Zealand. She has undertaken roles such as development and marketing manager for the New Zealand Dance Company, sponsorship manager and producer for Tempo Dance Festival and Director of Raising The Barre at The Royal New Zealand Ballet Studios. Merenia’s diverse and multidisciplinary career includes work as a dancer, choreographer, teacher and director. She has performed and choreographed works in Hong Kong, Spain, France, Denmark and the United States. Merenia has taught dance at the New Zealand School of Dance and at schools throughout Aotearoa. She is passionate about working with kaupapa Maori to inspire future generations of children through the art and legacy of dance
