If the nation's economy is to grow, the upper North Island's role in driving growth has become more and more important.
The boundaries between three of the major cities in New Zealand – Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga – form New Zealand's 'Golden Triangle'.
With more than 50% of New Zealand's population living within this triangle it's no surprise they achieve a similar percentage of the country's economic activity and GDP.
The triangle between Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga is home to the country's largest airport, and the two largest ports. The infrastructure demand in this triangle is huge along with the connectivity between all three regions.
The speakers include:
- Commissioner Anne Tolley – Tauranga City Council
- Deputy Mayor Bill Cashmore – Auckland City Council
- Mayor Paula Southgate – Hamilton City Council
- Leonard Sampson – CEO Port of Tauranga.
This lunch will see the all the leaders of the regions and the CEO of one of the major ports on their collective strategy and plan for this region - how they are working together in a collaborative manner to get the best outcomes for this rapidly growing dynamic greater region.
