Long Danny and Short Mitch met in Hokitika at Westland High School (Mitch teaching and Danny learning?) They formed a popular West Coast electric blues band (The 12th Bar Blues Band) and played around the West Coast for 4 years. Gigs included the Wildfoods Festival; a Hippie festival in Karamea and a Midwinter Festival in Haast. Mitch and Danny began to play a range of acoustic blues, Americana and Scottish roots music together and found that it didn’t sound too bad. This led to a musical partnership (albeit a long distance one) that has continued for the last 7 years.
Danny is a fine guitarist and singer while Mitch sings and keeps the audience entertained with song and chat. Always entertaining, they provide an excellent and cheap alternative to Sunday night TV viewing.
