The NZ String Quartet Neil Ashcroft Memorial Concert

It is a privilege for the New Zealand String Quartet to perform this special concert in memory of Neil Ashcroft.

Neil and Judith Ashcroft of Ithaca, New York, but originally from New Zealand, share close family connections with NZSQ musicians, Helene Pohl and Rolf Gjelsten. To honour Neil's love of classical music and his links to New Zealand, the Ashcroft family are generously sponsoring this free Wellington concert in Neil's memory. Friends, family, colleagues and all lovers of music are very welcome.

Beethoven's wondrous string quartets remain, like his symphonies, some of the most remarkable classical music ever composed. The NZSQ will perform Beethoven's first and last string quartets, composed in years 1799 and 1826, as well as a short work composed for the occasion.
