Otago Settlers Association Tuesday Club meets once a month for morning tea and a guest speaker. This month Amanda Mills, Curator Music and AV at Hocken Collections, gives a virtual introduction to their music collections and highlights some of the gems found within.

Hocken Collections has extensive and fascinating collections of music and music-related materials, including sheet music, recordings, publications, archives, ephemera and photographs. The music collections reflect the evolving nature of music, musical performance, and music-making in New Zealand since the mid-19th Century. Musical treasures both old and new are found throughout the collections, and this presentation will take you on a journey through The Hocken’s music materials, and highlight some of the gems within from the sheet music and recorded music collections, as well as items from the archives, ephemera and posters and photographs collections.
