Otago Settlers Association Tuesday Club meets once a month for morning tea and a guest speaker. This month’s speaker Dr Dorothy Page who will be discussing Harriet Morison, trade unionist and feminist. Arriving in Dunedin as a 12 year old in 1874, Harriet Morison was trained as a tailoress by her father. As an adult she devoted her impressive energy to the battle to improve conditions for working women, first through the Tailoresses' Union she helped found and in the campaign for women's suffrage, and later as a factory inspector and administrator in the Labour Party.
