Anyone involved in business who would like to learn how to read, interpret and use accounting information in everyday business

The design of the workshop is based on avoiding words like debit, credit and performing accounting calculations. Rather it focuses on participants gaining an understanding of accounting and the specific statements as documents that reflect part of their business.

The workshop avoids the traditional ways of teaching accounting to avoid confusion and focuses on understanding accounting information and the bookkeeping process in simple and clear terms.

Participants should be able to look at selected accounting information and know what they could do with it – or what someone else may do with it.

Session Topics:
The Statement of Financial Position
The Statement of Profit or Loss
The Statement of Cash Flows
Using Financial Ratios
Accounting concepts

This half day course is practical and hands-on. You will be shown the processes, tools, and techniques above, and will then have the opportunity to apply your learnings through individual and small group exercises. Have confidence that your decisions are backed by a sound understanding of the financial data.

Course Bundle:
This course is best attended in partnership with the 'Using Accounting and Finance in Decision Making' course that will be scheduled in the afternoon. Each half-day course will take place on the same day, in the same geographical location.

Includes workbook, arrival tea or coffee and Morning Tea.
