An in depth, full day workshop run by Occupational Therapist Elen Nathan. Created for parents and carers concerned or wanting to learn more about their child's sensory world.
We will cover:
- Understanding Sensory Avoiding - covering ears, picky or restrictive eating, difficulty with wearing clothing, making friends, tolerance for change.
- Understanding Sensory Seeking - touching and tasting lots of non-edibles items, always on the go, difficulty sleeping, difficulty making safe choices in play and relationships.
-We will unpack what these behaviours tell us about the child's sensory system as we explore the impact sensory sensitivities have on everyday life skills such as eating, learning, playing, relationships and self esteem.
- How to answer the question - is it sensory or is it behaviour.
- How to create low cost sensory regulation tools and spaces for use in your home.
